Part Time Delivery Driver

Position Summary:

Being a valuable team member at Lowe’s in delivery and customer service means you will be instrumental in making sure that merchandise is delivered on time and without incidents, all while providing exceptional customer service. This position requires a strong dedication to operational effectiveness, adherence to safety standards, and proficient communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service:

• Uphold Lowe’s service standards by delivering exceptional customer service that aligns with SMART guidelines.
• Initiate interactions with customers to identify their needs and offer support in finding, selecting, showcasing, and transporting merchandise.
• Supply customers with proficient and swift responses to inquiries, supporting them in making project-related choices.
• Express heartfelt appreciation to clients while discussing product particulars, special orders, features, guarantees, and advantages.
• Manage communication between customers and drivers to coordinate delivery logistics.

Coordinating delivery logistics and inventory control in operational settings:

• Arrange shipping tasks, create loading vouchers, and validate the timely and precise distribution of items.
• Arrange products, create and protect loads for transportation.
• Ensure that the model numbers, descriptions, and quantities on delivery orders are correct and match the products received.
• Take out, place, and assess installed appliances.

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow DOT regulations by appropriately securing loads and upholding the cleanliness, examination, and care of delivery trucks.
• Stay informed about delivery updates using approved tools like iPhones.
• Meet all DOT reporting requirements and sustain adherence to CDL compliance guidelines.
• Identify and communicate security concerns, such as theft or shoplifting occurrences, for appropriate action to be taken.
• Perform daily evaluations of the store and work areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness and safety standards, and promptly report any identified hazards.
• Manage store equipment like the Zebra phone, paint mixer, and CCTV by following safety procedures, including the use of spotters, safety cables, and aisle blockers.

Additional Duties:

• Undertake any supplementary responsibilities as needed by superiors.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• The type of CDL license required, either Class A or B, along with relevant endorsements like air brake validation, must align with the vehicle category.
• A current and legitimate medical certificate is required, or the candidate should be capable of obtaining one post-hiring.
• Meeting the criteria for Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screening is a must.
• Following the regulations of both DOT and CDL is essential.
• Only those who have reached the age of 21 are permitted.
• Sound understanding of reading comprehension and elementary mathematics.
• Skill in obtaining the required sales licensure or registration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A minimum of one year of hands-on experience driving semi-trucks and trailers, or graduation from a recognized driving school, is necessary.
• A track record of 6 months dealing with in-home delivery operations or interacting with customers in a retail customer service role.
• - Acquired three months of familiarity in using a forklift or Moffett for loading and unloading tasks.
