Retail Delivery Driver

Position Summary:

In the Lowe’s delivery and customer service sector, your vital role involves guaranteeing the safe and timely delivery of products, as well as delivering exceptional customer experiences. Key Responsibilities

Customer Service:

• Adhere to Lowe’s service policies and procedures to deliver high-quality SMART customer service.
• Actively communicate with customers to determine their needs and support them in finding, selecting, illustrating, and transferring merchandise.
• Help customers by responding promptly to inquiries and aiding them in navigating decisions concerning projects.
• Demonstrate genuine appreciation for customers by discussing product details, special order specifics, features, warranties, and advantages.
• Handle delivery communication between customers and drivers as needed.

Overseeing the efficiency of delivery processes and stock handling:

• Schedule transportation activities, issue loading documents, and ensure the timely and precise dispatch of goods.
• Organize merchandise, build, and inspect loads for transportation safety.
• Validate the item specifics on delivery invoices, which encompass model numbers, descriptions, and quantities.
• Carry out the unloading, installation, and testing of appliance deliveries.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with DOT mandates by correctly securing all loads and maintaining cleanliness, inspections, and servicing of delivery vehicles.
• Track the progress of shipments by utilizing designated gadgets like an iPhone.
• Carry out essential DOT reporting duties and monitor adherence to CDL regulations.
• Point out and document security hazards, including theft or shoplifting incidents, to enhance safety measures.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the store and work areas by conducting daily reviews and promptly reporting any hazards that are identified.
• Handle store devices like the Zebra phone, paint mixer, and CCTV system while ensuring safety compliance through practices like utilizing spotters, safety cables, and aisle blockers.

Additional Duties:

• Complete any other assignments as designated by management.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Depending on the vehicle being driven, a CDL permit of either Class A or B is essential, complemented by specific endorsements like air brake validation.
• Candidates should hold a valid medical certificate or have the capacity to acquire it after being hired.
• Ability to clear the Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screening is crucial.
• Meeting the requirements of DOT and CDL regulations is necessary.
• The age limit for entry is 21 years old or older as stipulated.
• Adequate literacy comprehension and basic numerical proficiency.
• Competence in obtaining the mandatory sales licensing or registration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Candidates must have either one year of semi-truck/trailer driving background or a valid certification from a reputable driving school.
• 6 months of practical experience in managing in-home deliveries or catering to customer inquiries and requests within a retail setting.
• Experienced in the operation of a forklift or Moffett for loading and unloading duties for a period of three months.
